The region of le Perche is located on the southern border of Normandy. It is a beautiful hilly area with many forests and delicious views. There are many hiking trails directly accessible from our gîte.

If you enjoy horseback riding or golfing, you can also find options at various locations nearby.

Furthermore, there are 3 natural swimming lakes in the area, all reachable within 20 minutes. There is also a pool with a huge slide in Montfort le Gesnois.

Renting canoes to paddle down the river at La Ferté Bernard is highly recommended.

Additionally, there are options to rent (electric) bicycles.

Charming towns nearby include La Ferté Bernard, also known as the Venice of the West due to its canals surrounding the city.

Bellême, with its fortified walls and narrow streets.

To explore the surroundings of La Camillette in a slightly larger circle, there is of course the beautiful city of Le Mans with its medieval town center.

In the summer months, there are always many festivals and the famous 'Nuit des chimères' where paintings of light are projected onto the old city walls.

Of course, there is also the 24-hour race circuit. You can also race yourself on the karting track.

There are many other options for enjoyable outings, such as the lovely city of Chartres with its famous cathedral.

The Leonardo Da Vinci Museum in Amboise.

Abseiling in the "Alps" of Le Mans in the town of St. Léonard des Bois.

Another option for a fun day trip is to visit one of the many châteaux and manors for which le Perche is known, such as the Manoir de la Fresnay in St. Germain-de-la-Coudre.

In Belfort-en-Perche, you can also take a ride in a covered wagon pulled by the typical local horses, "les Percherons."

In the Regional Natural Park of the Perche, in the Orne, in Theil sur Huisne, is the Traditional Cidrerie of the Perche located. Respect for the environment is a priority, and the cider orchards are organic.

Starting at the end of October, the harvest begins, and after artisanal bottling, the brut and demi-sec ciders are ready by the end of winter and receive the Calvados AOC label.

Cider jam and apple jelly are also made, as well as apple juices and apple cider vinegar, with great respect for traditional preparation methods.

In the old town, at the foot of the St-Julien gate, this beautiful, warm 16th-century establishment offers homemade and contemporary cuisine, sometimes a bit exotic, but always retaining some classic dishes. This is evident in the supreme of poultry with quinces, mashed potatoes with nuts, and a carcass jus with amaretto. For dessert, it is a pleasure to find a vacherin, a baba, or a moelleux that is always well-received! A nice selection of wines by the glass is also available.

Restaurant le Dauphin has recently received a Michelin distinction, the so-called BIB Michelin, which signifies a restaurant with an exceptional price/quality ratio.

Opened in 1799, le musée de Tessé is the first museum of Le Mans and one of the oldest in France. It houses an important collection of French, Italian, and Flemish paintings from the 14th to the 20th century and features a unique space dedicated to ancient Egypt.

The 24-Hour Race Museum in Le Mans Bentley, Ferrari, Jaguar, Ford, Porsche, Matra, Audi... all the major names are represented by their legendary models, inviting visitors to take a behind-the-scenes look at the biggest endurance race in the world. 350 m² of temporary exhibitions complement this thematic tour, which can be followed by a visit to the famous 24-hour race circuit.
