Christmas holidays! 2025 is drawing to a close and what a lovely season it’s been. We welcomed back familiar faces and also hosted many new guests — always a pleasure! Spring started off promisingly with a sunny March; for us that marks the end of the quiet winter and the beginning of the new season. We are open from early May until the end of September ☀️.
The garden got some extra TLC this spring: the wooden legs of the swing were replaced (after 15 years of faithful service), we had about ten trees at the back of the house pruned because they were touching the power cables, and we also hung a new weatherproof hammock to replace the old one that had a hole — perfect for a siesta under the cherry tree 🍒 😌🌿.
During the last week of August we were visited by an inspector from the French national tourism office. Since 2015 our gîte has been classified as 4-star and a re-inspection takes place every five years. As in previous years, we were very happy with the result: we get to keep our 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐!
2025 was also a great fruit year — we didn’t have enough hands to pick all the apples, pears, peaches and raspberries 🍎🍐🍑🍓. Furthermore we enjoyed figs, walnuts and chestnuts. We also planted two new fruit trees; one pear tree and one mirabelle tree.
This winter we’ll carry out some small maintenance and repair jobs in and around the house so everything will be tip-top when spring returns 🌱🛠️.
Below you’ll find a few photos from the past year.
Happy holidays and best wishes for a healthy start to 2026! We hope to see you this spring or next summer at La Camillette — book soon, as we already have bookings in the diary. See you soon!
